Is this an insurance plan?

No, this is not insurance, so there are no claims to file. Your clients will pay a discounted rate on health care services at the time they receive the services.

Can I sell to groups?

Yes, you can call the Careington Broker Department at (866) 442-2780 for special group pricing. A Careington representative will provide you with the agreement and spreadsheet once pricing is given.

How do I submit business?

Applications with membership payment may be submitted via online through the free Broker Portal, fax, regular mail or personal delivery to our corporate office. Please note that all business submitted by an outside broker to Careington for customer fulfillment MUST include your broker code. Clear, complete copies are necessary for correct data entry of member information. For more information about submitting Careington membership applications, please contact our Careington Broker Department at (866) 442-2780.

How long will it take my customers to get into the system after they sign up?

Your customers' information is synced in real time with our administration system when they sign up online. A customer can see a dentist the same or next day as long as the effective date is backdated to the first of the month when they sign up.

Fax the application to (888) 335-7330, and the dentist can call (800) 290-0523 for verification.

Can my clients include their dependents on the plan?

Yes, you can offer Careington discount plans that have a member plus 1 or a family membership option. A plan with a member-only option can be upgraded in order to add dependents to a plan.

How does Careington bill my clients?

Your clients have several choices when submitting payment. Careington accepts all major credit and debit cards. Our online applications also accept PayPal, and checks and money orders are accepted for annual amounts only. When submitting an application from the customer, make sure the total on the application matches the amount of funds submitted. Funds should be made payable to Careington. Businesses or groups with at least five households may be put on a monthly list bill.

For groups, please collect at least the first month's fee and processing fee for each member. Have the authorizing officer or manager sign our Employer Sponsor Agreement, and submit that information with a completed application for each employee/member, along with the fee. Careington will send a monthly list bill directly to the company/group as a payment notice. Since the plan is completely portable, any employees or members may take the plan with them if they discontinue with the employer or group.

Can I market Careington on my website?

Yes, we encourage our agents to have a strong presence on the web. We recommend linking your website to your Careington website available through our Broker Portal. Please keep in mind that all custom websites must be reviewed and approved by our Compliance Department before going "live."

How do I get additional membership cards?

If your clients need additional cards for their household, or they have lost their card, please call Member Services at (800) 290-0523.

If you find yourself locked out of your Broker Portal, it is often because an incorrect password has been entered while attempting to log in. To fix this, use the "FORGOT MY PASSWORD" link to receive a temporary password and gain access back into your portal.

What if one of my clients wants to use a provider not in your network?

You or your client can refer a provider for participation in the network by visiting and selecting "NOMINATE A PROVIDER." The Provider Relations Department will attempt to contact the dentist within 72 hours of receiving the referral. Please supply the dentist's contact info (name, address, city, state, ZIP, phone and name of office manager) and person referring the dentist.

The referrals can be sent to Careington via fax at (888) 335-7330 (Attention: Network Development) or via email at [email protected].

What do I do if one of my clients has a complaint about a provider?

Please submit all issues in writing, including a copy of your superbill.

What do I tell a client who wants to cancel?

Cancellations are accepted via regular mail, email, phone or fax. A full refund of the premium (not the processing fee) will be given if received within the first 30 days of acceptance. Customers being drafted monthly will usually not be billed after the notice if the cancellation is received prior to draft processing. The notice must be received prior to the 20th of the month to be effectively cancelled for the following month.

Have the customer contact Careington directly about cancelling a plan.

In many cases, we may be able to retain the membership and keep the member. A member who stays with Careington will continue to generate ongoing commissions through their payments.
