Careington International Corporation, a company that provides more than 15 million members nationwide with access to Careington's networks, products and services, is joining Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a national childhood cancer nonprofit, in the fight against childhood cancer. The partnership will help spread awareness about the critical need for innovative and lifesaving research.
Careington was inspired by ALSF's commitment to its founder Alexandra "Alex" Scott's legacy of finding cures for all kids with cancer. Careington decided to partner with ALSF to support this incredible cause.
"We're so excited to partner with ALSF for this new initiative," said Matthew Herrera, Director of Sales at Careington. "At our conferences, we usually offer some kind of giveaway with a business card drawing, but we had the idea to do something more. Why not help give back to an incredible cause?"
Careington will add a branded drop box and marketing pieces at several nationwide trade shows and conferences. Attendees can drop their business cards in the box and learn more about ALSF at Careington's booth. For each business card collected in the ALSF box, Careington will donate to the Foundation.
"We're honored to have the support of Careington International Corporation," said Liz Scott, Co-Executive Director of ALSF and Alex's mom. "We look forward to this new partnership which will help us move closer to better treatments and cures for all kids with cancer."
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $150 million toward fulfilling Alex's dream of finding a cure, funding over 800 pediatric cancer research projects nationally. In addition, ALSF provides support to families affected by childhood cancer through programs such as Travel For Care and SuperSibs.
