Background: Careington's Corporate Communications team coordinates all RFPs and RFIs on behalf of the sales team as a core function of our department. We have had great success with RFPs in the past, and we would like to continue this success with the goal of taking on an increased number of RFPs with a more streamlined approach to the overall RFP response process.

Goal: The Communications RFP and Proposal Specialist is a full-time position that will work with the VP of Marketing & Communications, as well as the sales and marketing teams, to create custom high-level executive proposals, coordinate and respond to all RFPs and RFIs and proactively identify suitable RFPs across all Careington companies and brands.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and respond to all RFPs, RFIs and other similar opportunities
  • Identify meaningful ways to streamline the overall RFP process over time, in an effort to save time to result in a more efficient and effective RFP and proposal process
  • Create and actively maintain a library/repository of department-approved RFP responses that are routinely reviewed, updated and enhanced, as a key RFP process improvement designed to save time for other department and subject matter experts
  • Proactively identify and register for any and all relevant RFP, RFI and bid opportunities through all available channels, including city, county, school district and other local, state and federal opportunities
  •  Create content for custom, high-level executive prospective client sales proposals, on a daily basis or as needed
  • Manage the sales proposal process to ensure successful daily creation of compelling sales proposals for the Careington sales team
  • Implement RFP "best practices" in a proactive attempt to ensure Careington's brand, our products and services and those of our partners and clients are well represented in a compelling and competitive way
  • Coordinate with Implementation, Client Relations, Sales, Marketing and Communications the review of marketing and promotional materials, and review and edit all communications pieces from the standpoints of Communications, Marketing, Product and Compliance
  • Create original and meaningful content for Careington and Careington affiliate companies, and coordinate and assist with content reviews and edits, as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field
  • Relevant experience in a similar Communications role, with previous RFP and sales proposal experience preferred
  • Strong command of writing and editing practices, including proficiency with Associated Press Stylebook guidelines and preferred style
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and disciplined with the ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
