Corporate Communications Review Specialist


Currently, materials come to Careington for review and approval from agents, new clients, existing clients and even internal sales and product initiatives.  All materials from all sources and all channels are streamlined through the Communications Review Specialist position who will review all content from a product accuracy, brand presence, marketing message and final compliance approval standpoint. The consolidated review will help to ensure the Careington brands are well represented and the company name promoted in an accurate, consumer and client friendly way.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and edit materials from all relevant perspectives to ensure materials appropriately communicate products and services and represent the Careington brands.
  • Coordinate the review of all materials with Implementation, Client Relations, Product, Sales, Marketing, Communications and Compliance.
  • Streamline the overall review process from all sources to ensure it becomes and remains an efficient and effective process, achieving the desired result of polished, professional and compliant content consistently across all channels.
  • Implement "best practices" for the review process to be shared with agents, clients and internal teams in a proactive attempt to ensure Careington's brands, our products and services and those of our partners and clients are well represented.
  • Other departmental duties as assigned, including content creation and social media.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • A strong command of writing and editing practices and a familiarity with AP Stylebook guidelines
  • An eye for detail as well as strong grammar, spelling and language skills
  • The ability to self-manage and self-motivate
  • A solid understanding of copywriting and editing principles and standards
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with a high level of detail and accountability
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven corporate environment
  • Ability to think quickly, make confident decisions and put thoughts and decisions into action quickly and decisively, considering available resources and associated timelines
  • This position requires regular, dependable attendance and the ability to adhere to all of Careington's work rules, policies and procedures.

Education, Experience & Software

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 1-year office experience in a similar professional role preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Adobe software for PDF creation and editing
  • Strong command of writing and editing practices, familiarity with Associated Press Stylebook guidelines and preferred style
  • Ability to create and review content for multiple audiences and brands, for varying media and with variability in tone and style.
