IT Auditor


IT auditor performs detailed evaluations and internal reviews of computer information systems under indirect supervision. Develops and maintains audit KPIs and KRIs. Consults with administrators, management and business units on computer information systems operational issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide Business and IT management with guidance on IT risk management matters, particularly on application and infrastructure security.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the IT Risk Assessment at the departmental level under the oversight of the IT Operations Director, including identifying areas where business units should consider additional investment and areas where internal audit should focus.
  • Conduct audits or lead teams in performance of IT audits and reviews of systems, applications, and IT processes. Prepare and report results to executives and Audit Committees.
  • Perform pre- and post-implementation reviews of system updates.
  • IT security audits (e.g. network, operating system and data center), including evaluating if security vulnerabilities are properly identified and mitigated. Coordinate the scope and performance of these reviews with business units and external security experts.
  • Evaluate information general computing controls and provide valuable feedback. Test compliance with those controls. Coordinate with business teams as applicable.
  • Perform various other reviews of IT management policies and procedures such as change management, business continuity planning/disaster recovery and information security to ensure that controls surrounding these processes are adequate.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working technical knowledge of current systems hardware, protocols and standards.
  • Working technical knowledge of current compliance frameworks

      • NIST
  • Able to work under limited supervision and exercise independent judgment.
  • Proactive with the initiative to identify needs and offer solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Flexible and able to quickly adapt and learn new technologies.
  • Possessing a positive attitude and desires to be part of a team environment

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
  • Certifications in systems technologies and/or compliance frameworks preferred.
  • Must have experience working closely with users and management.
