We are proud to announce that Careington Chief Information Officer Rashmi Jain will speak on a panel at Deloitte's CXO Spotlight event in Dallas organized by CBO PEER North Texas. The online event will feature executives from various industries for an afternoon of inspirational stories, analysis of disruptive technologies and discussion of industry trends from leaders with decades of experience. Rashmi will be discussing healthcare technology in the current environment. The panel is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6 and more than 100 top professionals across various industry verticals are expected to attend.
"I'm delighted to be speaking at this event," Rashmi said. "It's a real honor to be selected alongside such an accomplished group of industry experts, and I'm looking forward to participating on such a distinguished panel."
Rashmi began her career with Careington in 1999 and will celebrate her 21st anniversary with the company this month. She immediately became a leader in the organization, being promoted to Director of Information Systems within six months of being hired for an entry-level IT job. She quickly worked up the ranks to become Senior Vice President of Information Systems in 2016 and was ultimately promoted to Chief Information Officer in April 2019.
Over the decades, Rashmi expanded the IT and operations division to more than 300 employees and encouraged company leadership to invest in technology, creating cost efficiencies and expanding the scope of the company's services. She has overseen two company-wide systems upgrades and helped Fortune 500 and 1,000 companies with complex IT integrations, transforming the information systems department into a strategic partner with a focus on custom development and building scalable information technology systems to address company initiatives.
With her promotion to Chief Information Officer, Rashmi became Careington's third woman in a C-level executive role, joining longtime CEO Barbara Fasola and CFO Melissa Baumann. Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Rashmi was honored at the Dallas Business Journal's Minority Business Leader Awards earlier this year. Rashmi was also a nominee for the 2020 CIO of the Year Orbie Award and was selected as a keynote speaker at NPower's Texas Fall 2019 graduation ceremony.
Additionally, Rashmi is a member of the DFW Alliance of Technology and Women and the CIO Dallas Forum, in which she collaborates with other Metroplex CIOs.
