Careington and Smiling on America's Heroes
Careington received praise for partnering with Smiling on America's Heroes, a program designed to offer dental and vision discounts to the nation's military veterans and their families. The program is available nationwide but launched this summer in New York state, where there are currently just under one million veterans who can benefit from the savings this program provides.
In White Plains, New York State Senator Greg Ball and Assemblyman Robert Castelli, both veterans, along with Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino, held a press conference on September 12 to raise awareness for the discount program.
In July, Orange County Executive Edward Diana issued his support of the Smiling on America's Heroes program to a crowd at the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor in New Windsor.
The Smiling on America's Heroes discount dental and vision program also includes a referral resource for finding quality and licensed dependent care services, and 5% of the fees collected through this program will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
